4. Terrace Café at the Sarah P. Duke Gardens
(Open: 11am – 3pm M-F, 10am – 4pm Sat, 12pm – 4pm Sun) 

Although the Terrace Café isn’t open in the colder months of the year, since the flowers are still in full bloom and you haven’t hit the wall of midterms yet, you should definitely include the tiny café in the middle of the gardens on your to-do list. Hit it up with your friends and dine outside amongst the gorgeous trees and blossoms, or snag a scoop of ice cream or a sandwich and create a picnic on a grassy knoll. If you want to arrange a group lunch, just call at least three days in advance (919-660-3957). Then grab your friends, grab some noms, and grab a good book, and lose an afternoon at the sun-drenched Duke Gardens.
