Calling all Collegiettes – I know you have opinions on just anything and everything (for me, it’s the fringe trend. Not a huge fan), but if you don’t speak up, nobody is going to hear you! So what can you do? Turn to your representatives. On Duke’s campus, the chances of you being able to cast a ballot to change campus aren’t all that high. However, your peers on DSG are the individuals who are speaking up for you on the big issues, and if you never communicate your ideas or concerns with them, how are they going to know what Duke students want? Hey, as much as people have been bashing Occupy Duke, you have to give those students credit. They have an opinion, they believe in something, and they are most definitely grabbing your attention.

So, I’m issuing a challenge to you, my fellow Collegiettes. Make your voice heard, in big or small matters. Whether it’s casting your ballot for North Carolina elections (there are rides from West Campus that make it super convenient to do so!) or just emailing/texting/talking to your student representatives, make your voices heard. I know you have great ideas about how to change Duke (and our surrounding community! and hey, maybe one day even the nation!) for the better – raise your voice and people will listen.
