Other than spending time with your family, enjoying a well-deserved break from studying, and sleeping your own bed…the best part about going home for break is seeing all your old friends. The best way to gather friends and catch up on lost times: A Holiday Party. Here are some cute ways to make yours a standout.
Deck The Halls: To set the scene, balloons are a cheap and festive way to decorate. Add a little flavor to the room by taping these ballons from the ceiling (put a marble inside to weigh them down before you blow them up). Some shiny silver and blue, red and green, or silver and gold combos can set the mood for any tacky-christmas sweater, hot cocoa, or semi-formal event.
A Little Extra: Holiday parties may seem like a great reason to slurge and buy yourself that new pair of shoes you’ve been eyeing. But for those of us on a budget, here’s a great trick to dress up shoes you already own. Add a colorful thick ribbon to the arch of your favorite solid pump to create a festive party shoe. If you find the bow slipping, just add a little double sided stiky tape.
Winter Wonderland: What is more fun than looking back at a reel of photos with some hilarious costumes? Decorate a wall in your house with wrapping paper and set up a camera on a tripod to face the wall. Ask all your guests to bring one dress up item and add whatever you have left at home that didn’t make it into your tailgate box (may you rest in peace). Make a “no photo review policy” during the photo-shoot so that no one deletes photos before the end of the night. Set the timer and enjoy.
Hope you all enjoy a wonderful break from school. Enjoy seeing your friends and be safe!
