Healthy Dorm Room Snacks

Healthy eating is a goal many collegiettes™ today strive to incorporate into their daily lives.  However, with busy schedules and limited options, the quest to eat healthy can become quite difficult for college women, especially for those of us who live in dorm rooms.  In the following compilation of dorm room snacks, I have described healthy options for those of you seeking quick breakfast options, protein-packed snacks that are perfect between classes or before a workout, salty snacks for a late-night bite, and scrumptious treats to satisfy that sweet tooth!


Quick and Easy Breakfast:
2 hard-boiled eggs- 150 calories
¾ cup Kashi Heart to Heart Warm Cinnamon Oat Cereal with 1 cup Blue Diamond Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze-150 calories
1/3 cup Bob’s Red Mill Oat Bran with one small banana (add a dash of cinnamon and a splash of almond milk for an extra kick!)- 200 calories
Thomas Whole Wheat Bagel Thin with 2 tbsp. light cream cheese- 170 calories
 

Protein-Packed:
Chobani Greek Yogurt with ¼ cup Kashi GOLEAN Crisp Toasted Berry Crumble- 200 calories
Apple (or small banana) with 1 tbsp. Peanut Butter- 200 calories
10 Almonds and 1 reduced fat Colby-Jack Sargento Cheese- 130 calories
 

Salty Snack:
100-calorie Orville Redenbacher Smart Pop (butter or kettle-corn!)
100-calorie pretzel pack with Laughing Cow Light Cheese Spread- 135 calories
100-calorie PopChips (They have 61% less fat than most chips! Try with salsa for a low-calorie kick)

Sweet Tooth Satisfier:

Smart Ones (Many varieties…including Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Sundae, Brownie Sundae, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Sundae! Who ever said you can’t indulge without sacrificing your waistline?)- 140 calories- 170 calories

Skinny Cow (ice cream cones, sandwiches, and bars!) -100 calories-150 calories
1 bag Pretzel M&Ms- 150 calories
Microwave s’mores (2 marshmallows, 1 graham cracker, 1 Dove dark chocolate square)- 145 calories
5 Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate Kisses- 100 calories
