5. BooksÂ
I get it. You spent all semester pounding through your orgo textbook. All you want to do is catch up on The Walking Dead (an excellent life choice) and hang out with your friends from home. But guess what? Maybe sometime in February, you’ll have a little free time before Perkins becomes your new residence and you get slammed by midterms. Then, you’ll be glad for an easy, tranquil distraction to remind you that not ALL books are a pain. I recommend Stephen King’s new novel 11/22/63 (a Christmas gift I’m really excited about!), the biography of Steve Jobs, or The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The last book isn’t new, but it’s SO good. And when you’re done reading, you can reward yourself for your hard work by going to the movie! Heads up though, the film adaptation is a little bizarre and graphic. Novels aren’t really your thing? I love humorous books that are fun to flip through, like F in Exams or I Judge You When You Use Poor Grammar.
