In a few days, I will travel 3,884 miles to London for four months, I will be living and taking classes in one of the greatest cities in the world. To say I’m excited would be an understatement but at the same time, I have been feeling a bit melancholy. At first, I didn’t know what was sparking these feelings and eventually chalked it up to my apprehensions about having to travel out of the country by myself or being so far from home. But just recently after spending time with my friends and family the sadness has faded and my anticipation is through the roof. I am beyond ready to start my journey in London, but there are some things I’m gonna miss.
1. My Friends

Probably the thing I’m going to miss the most while abroad is my friend group. Whether that be The Spice Girls (my four best friends) or some of the many great people I have met during my time at Duke, they will all be missed.
2. Duke

Since matriculating in 2016, Duke has become my home. It’s crazy that I live in this gothic wonderland and it is hard to say goodbye to the hustle and bustle even for a few months.
3. Chick-fil-A
I mean why not? Legitimately I can eat Chick-fil-A for every meal and never get tired of it.
4. Target

Despite the fact that half of my wardrobe is from Target, I am really going to miss it. From its dollar section to its weird popcorn smell. This store is my life personified.
5. Thanksgiving
