Cindy Lou Who:Why steal Christmas, when you could steal this clever costume idea? This outfit is really easy to throw together, even though it looks like you put in a lot of work. Adding on costumes for the Grinch and Max (the dog) will make a winning group getup.
Supplies: 1 Red Dress, 1 Red Bow, 1 Plastic Bottle, 1 hair tie, curling iron, some bobby pins.
To do: Don the red dress (maybe with some white accents) to provide the Holiday feel. Put a Coke/Gatorade/Any Bottle on top of your hair in the center. Lean over and allow hair to fall around the bottle, leaving two large pieces down. Band at the cap. Use a bow to cover the band. Braid the two bottom pieces and pin to the base of the bottle. Curl the ends that stick above bottle top, and at end of braids.
Extra Credit: Add stripped red, or green tights. Put wire hangers inside the braids to give more structure.

Ms. Pac Man and Ghosts:  Pay homage to your arcade days with this simple group costume. More people? No problem! This costume can include larger groups up to 5 people, with options for a Ms. Pac Men, her four ghosts. Feeling feisty? Go crazy with a poisoned ghost.
Supplies: Cheap solid-colored dresses, or T-shirts (Blue, Yellow, Pink, Red, Orange), Scissors, Paper, hair bow and clothes pin.
To do [Ghost]: Cut triangles out of the bottom of the dress or T-shirt to give the angled bottom the ghosts have. Cut off the sleeves as well to give a more rounded look. Cut eyes out from the paper and attach them to front of shirt.
To do [Ms. Pac Man]: Can either wear just an unaltered yellow dress or be crafty and round out the bottom. The important thing about this costume is to wear the big bow in your hair, exaggerated winged liquid liner and bright pink lip.
Extra Credit: Larger groups can have some of the extra items such as the cherries or bananas as props.

Devilled Egg: A costume that people might not first understand, but it’s cute and funny once they do. This costume is a combination of dressing up as a devil and (you guessed it) an egg. This would good for the other nights of Hallo-week– your wit will seem like a breath of fresh air.
Supplies: White dress, yellow construction paper, scissors, clothespin, and devil horns.
To Do: Cut the yellow paper to look like a yolk and attach it to the white dress. Put on the horns and dress. It’s that quick.
Extra Credit: Add a forked devil tail and some killer red heels.

Sabrina is a Junior at Duke University, and is double majoring in English and Public Policy. A born and bred South African, Sabrina has traveled to the USA to pursue her higher education. As well as being a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, Sabrina is also Assistant Vice President for Recruitment for the Panhellenic Association at Duke. Sabrina has written for Duke's daily newspaper, The Chronicle and Duke's fashion magazine, FORM. After graduating, she hopes to attend law school preferably in her favourite city, New York. In her spare time, Sabrina vegges out to various fashion blogs, mindless TV (Pretty Little Liars anyone?) and online shopping (which borders on an addiction). If you manage to catch her in an energetic mood, she's probably on her way to cardiodance (or to the nearest mall).
