Most of us that live out here are aware of the concerts coming to the huge arenas like the Pepsi Center and to Red Rocks Amphitheatre, but sometimes we forget about all of the other venues that are home to amazing performances. Here are some shows in Denver this month I promise you won’t want to miss:

Tuesday, May 5: Matt and Kim @ Ogden Theatre

This is probably one of the most fun concerts you will attend, whether Matt and Kim are your favorite band or not. They’ll have you jumping around like a kid in no time. Check out one of the most vibrant concerts at a great venue.

Wednesday, May 13: Foster the People with Milo Greene @ Fillmore Auditorium

I’m fairly positive that we all were jamming out to Foster the People’s 2011 hit “Pumped Up Kicks” when it came out (and still might be today). Now its time to revisit those days, as well as enjoy listening to their latest record from this past year. The Fillmore is probably the biggest venue on this list, but it still will feel like a very intimate concert experience.

Tuesday, May 19: Purity Ring @ Gothic Theatre

A totally different style from the groups above, this Canadian duo will deliver a more electric and synth sounding (not edm) performance that will far from disappoint. Purity Ring also released an album this past February that is worth checking out whether you attend the concert or not.

Saturday, May 23: Denver Day of Rock

Presented by Amp the Cause, Denver day of Rock is basically a whole day of amazing shows in order to raise funds and awareness for the many non-profits in and around the Denver area. The shows will be taking place on 5 different stages around throughout Denver, and the lineup includes Matt Kearney, St. Paul and the Broken Bones, and Moon Taxi (and many more!). I cannot think of a better way to spend Memorial Day weekend.

LINEUP

Tuesday, May 26: Passion Pit @ Ogden Theatre

Since 2007, Passion Pit has had their fans listening to some feel good jams. (“Sleepy Head” anyone?) With four albums under their belt, Passion Pit is bound to deliver an upbeat and spirited performance.

Saturday, May 30: Tame Impala @ Ogden Theatre

Tame Impala are originated in Perth, Australia, but has been performing their more “trip-pop” sounding music around the world for more than five years now. Five albums in and it doesn’t look like they’re stopping anytime soon.

Check out these concerts and the many more coming to Denver this month!

Live music is the best music.
