Keeping up with style blogs, trend forecasts, and fashion magazine styles can be a full time job, especially with all these crazy trends taking over. Some of these trends can seem daunting even to the savviest collegiette. So I’m taking those styles we’re all a little hesitant to try out and showing how even the most fashionably challenged student can look über fab. Because we all know You Can Totally Wear That.

If you’ve been paying even the tiniest amount of attention to fashion, you’ve probably noticed the increasing cat presence on articles of clothing. One of the more popular methods of displaying cat pride has taken place mostly on the head. Cat ears, a key part of the current satirical fashion trend, plays to the insider joke that fashionistas will never find love. So since we will most likely end up being a cat lady we might as well start now. Need I remind you the unlucky in love T-Swift wore one in her 22 video?

Like TSwift demonstrates, cat ears can easily show up in parties and casual situations. My suggestion on how to pull these off is to keep the hair style fun and playful. Try a messy top bun for a fun back drop or keep it down, adding a little extra body and texture for an effortless look of pure awesomeness. You’re going to want to incorporate the glitzy metal of the headband, so pair it with a fun shiny top, casual cropped pants and a fun pair of shoes. You’ll want to keep most of the attention on your top half, so sticking to neutral colors on the bottom half is a great way to keep your outfit’s excitement under control. If you’re feeling brave, try tossing on a black blazer for the ultimate formal yet fun look for a night on the town with your girls.
*sunglasses are optional, depending on how moody/cool you feel that day ;)
