To those lovely ladies about to embark on the journey to find your home away from home, you are in for a busy and exciting time! Finding the sorority that is the perfect fit for you can seem overwhelming, let alone having to worry about what to wear for recruitment. Your outfit is a reflection of your personality, so it’s important to look like the truest version of yourself. HC Drexel is here to offer you some outfit inspiration for how to dress in order to make a good first impression. We encourage you to tweak these ideas and make them your own, and rock your outfits with total confidence. Work it, fashionistas!

Round 1

The first round is more laid back than others. You have the opportunity to meet the sisters of each chapter over the course of two nights. We recommend wearing something cute, but not too dressy. This will be your first chance to make a good impression at each house, so wear an outfit that expresses your personality! You will be doing a lot of walking so wear comfortable, but appropriate shoes. We wouldn’t recommend wearing heels or flip-flops, but rather flats or sandals. You should choose an outfit that you would wear to brunch or to go walking around the city.

Round 2 As a potential new member, or PNM, you will get to spend more time meeting sisters during this round. A nice skirt and top or a sundress would be appropriate for this day, paired with dressier shoes or wedges. You will still be on your feet, but this day will be better suited for heels if you choose to wear them. When deciding how to dress, think going out with friends to a nice dinner. Wear something pretty and polished, but not too over the top.

Preference

This is the last and most formal round of recruitment, before you find out who your sisters are on Bid Day! Preference is a semi-formal event, so any variation of a cocktail dress and heels would be the best choice. Just be sure to keep it classy and stay true to your personal style. And remember, less isn’t always more when it comes to getting dressed—be wary of anything too short, tight, or low cut. Also, try to focus on only one stand out accessory or color palette per outfit.

With these suggestions on what to wear, we have no doubt that you will rock recruitment! Feel free to use these ideas as inspiration when selecting your outfits, but remember to always let your true self shine through. No matter what you wear, the most important thing to remember is to own your look with confidence and a smile! As long as you feel good, you will look good, and this will show when you are going through recruitment. Best of luck, collegiettes!
