In the late spring and throughout the summer, it is considered festival season, where thousands of people all have one thing in common: music. You gather in a huge field for hours and sing your heart out. These festivals are all over the US as well as the world. Obviously, Her Campus wants you to sing your heart out in style! We’ve got a few fashion tips too.

Outfit #1

Kimono, Tank, Denim Cut-offs, Combat Boots, Cross-body Bag, Aviators

For a music festival, most people want that perfect sort of weather: Not too hot and not too cold.  In the event that you get lucky enough, opt for distressed denim cutoffs. To offset the casual shorts, pair it with an embellished, thin tank top. The temperature could drop but, instead of throwing on a jean jacket, go for a longer kimono that matches your tank. As we’ve said before, you’ll probably be in a field with thousands of people. You’re also standing around most of the time. The wiser decision, when it comes to footwear, would be to wear closed-toe shoes. Black Doc Martens are stylish and durable. Festivals usually don’t allow huge bags; so, ditch your leather tote for a boho-styled cross-body bag. Sunglasses are a must! You don’t want to be worrying about your long tresses getting in your face; therefore, you should choose a braided up-do. Full-face makeup would probably be a sweaty disaster by the end of the day. A light tinted moisturizer, cheek stain, and waterproof mascara will ensure that you look every bit as put together by the end of the night!

Outfit #2

Anorak, Sheath, Rain Boots, Cross-body Bag,

Unfortunately, with outdoor music festivals often comes muggy and wet weather but that doesn’t mean it stops people from showing up. It definitely shouldn’t stop you from being fashionable! To combat the gross humidity throughout the day, we suggest a thin, loose sheath dress made of cotton or linen. There will be mud! Rain boots will become your best friend. A light anorak with a hood will keep you from getting drenched! Since humidity is never your friend, you’ll want to keep your hair in its natural state. A vibrant cross-body bag and umbrella will keep your day bright and fun despite the crappy weather. A bright lip stain and waterproof mascara are the perfect no fuss makeup duo!

Outfit #3

Overalls, Crop Top Tee, Espadrilles, Cross-body Bag, Straw Rancher, Wayfarers

For those sweltering hot days, you’ll want to stay cool and cute! Something unexpected such as overalls would be the perfect mash-up with a light cotton crop top that doesn’t cling. Bright, closed-toe shoes, like these espadrilles, will break up the neutral colors of the outfit. You can’t go wrong with a fringe cross-body bag. A straw rancher and cool wayfarers will keep the sun out of your face, so you can watch your favorite band performing on stage. Two French braids are a no fuss and cute way to fix your hair for the dry heat. Instead of hiding it, embrace the dewiness of your skin with a liquid bronzer or highlighter. Pair that with a natural-looking lip gloss and you’re ready!
