The Ultimate Survival Guide for Memorial Day Weekend

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Drexel chapter.

Memorial Day is a wonderful holiday for many reasons, including remembering those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. For Drexel students, it also signals that the spring quarter is ending. As our only day off since spring break, this is a welcome relief from “Midterm-Month” and a nice way to regain our brain power before diving into finals week. We at Her Campus at Drexel want to make sure you’re well prepared for this holiday and have crafted a survival guide specifically geared toward this three-day vacation.

1. Secret Deodorant

A favorite brand amongst women, Secret Deodorant has been around supporting our underarm stench for years. This is a must-have for any collegiettes spending time in the sun to keep the armpits smelling fresh during volleyball games and tanning sessions. The best thing about Secret is that they also offer travel sizes of their best scents so you can quickly toss it in your bag and head out the door.

2. Her Campus Koozies

Whether it be an iced coffee from Starbucks or an Izzie soda from the cooler, iced drinks are known to perspire when in the heat, subsequently dripping moisture everywhere. These fun koozies help keep your drinks cool while you sip and protect hard surfaces from awkward drink rings. The bright colors also help you to see you drink in the sand when at the beach!

3. Steripod Toothbrush Cap Keeping the smile as bright and white as possible is a MUST for all the beach selfies and family photos. This toothbrush cap allows that to happen by protecting the bristles from the other items you have in your overnight bag. Have you ever unpacked your bag and realized your toothbrush was directly up against your sneakers? No more.

4. Essence Eyebrow Fixing Pencil

Speaking of picture prep, eyebrows are having their moment and you’ll want to make sure yours look good in every photo. These eyebrow pencils keep form and color on your brows and are small enough to take everywhere. Your friends and family will wonder how you’ve maintained such prim brows throughout a day of watermelon eating and water gun fights.

5. Summer’s Eve Cleansing Wipes

Jumping into a pool, a lake or the ocean is tradition at a family gathering in May so you need to be prepared to take care “down there.” Summer’s Eve wipes will help take care of all your feminine needs to avoid uncomfortable sensations later in the weekend. Just use a wipe after you’ve dried off for the day and rest easy knowing you’ve taken care of business.

6. White Fur Novel

Whether you need to entertain yourself while tanning or you just need an excuse to not acknowledge your racist uncle, feast your eyes on this new romance novel from Jardine Libaire. What may seem like a classic Rich Boy – Poor Girl love story is so much more. This novel takes their love story past the initial love confession and explores how these two worlds merge in New York to create difficult scenarios where their devotion and commitment is tested.

We hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and that this survival kit allows you to reach a new level of rest and relaxation. Good luck on midterms, finals and all of your projects!
