Without a doubt being on co-op makes you feel like a grown woman (maybe it’s the blazer or maybe it’s the packed lunches remniscent of grade school). So, going back to the harsh reality of lectures and snooze worthy professors may not seem like any consolation, but being in class also has its advantages. Whether you like the professionalism of the nine-to-five life or pulling all-nighters to finish essays gives you a rush, either way, there are ups and downs to each scenario. For those of us returning back to class after six months of co-op, the following pros and cons are totally #relatable.

PRO: If you were co-oping out of state or abroad, returning to campus feels homey.

CON: Homework … enough said.

PRO: You make your schedule; no more nine-to-five …

CON: But that usually means going to bed early to wake up for class …

PRO: … Unless of course your first class isn’t until 1 p.m.

CON: One-hour lunch breaks turn into 20 minutes between class to eat.

PRO: Midday naps are a thing again.

CON: The words “finals” and “midterms” are once again in your vocabulary.

PRO: Sweatpants may not be office attire, but they are totally okay for class.

CON: The quarter system is back to haunt you.

PRO: “It’s Thursday” is a perfectly good reason to drink.

Homework and finals and midterms suck, but going back to class definitely has its perks. Enjoy the next six months because before you know it you’ll be back to the nine-to-five grind once again!
