Editor’s Note: This guest post by ASA president Laurene Milan is one of a series of blogs highlighting Greek life on campus. If you’d like your sorority to be featured, please email aubreynagle@hercampus.com.
ASA is comprised of courageous young women who are not afraid to support one another, exercise diligence and respect, and try new things together like Bhangra Dancing and attending nutrition workshops. As a strong sisterhood, ASA combines every sister’s unique talents and skills to achieve our goals, both individually and chapter wide.
Sisters generously give of their time to the chapter and the community. It was through ASA that I had the opportunity to paint houses in West Philadelphia this past summer. Seeing the residents come home to their newly painted homes with tears of gratitude in their eyes was one of the greatest memories of my summer. The sisters of ASA care for each other and the community.
Since I have been in the chapter, we have continued to grow by learning from the experiences of our alumnae. The women of Alpha Sigma Alpha have taught me about myself, and they have taught me how to be the best me possible. I am so thankful and honored to be President of Nu Nu Chapter of Alpha Sigma Alpha.
