I found a Cookie that Cares – ChocAmo

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Drexel chapter.

Latest in photogenic trendy food: we’re greeted with a cookie cup. Yep, that’s right. A. Cookie. Cup. Not sold yet? Okay, imagine a cookie, in any flavor, shaped into a small cup lined with chocolate and filled with your favorite treat, interested? So was I.

The creators of this dessert are ChocAmo, they’re the original cookie cup company created by Drexel alum, Michelle Silberman. Ambition can’t wait, right? What started from a childhood idea turned into a successful business. The best part? They’re baked right here in Philly. The concept just makes sense, why shouldn’t I be able to put my milk inside my cookie?

It doesn’t stop there, I taste tested and can’t stop. I followed some recipes and let me say, you can do a lot with a little cup. My go-to move is to microwave my cookie cup then put ice cream inside. Think of a warm cookie with ice cream on top. Believe me when I say that beats the regular pints. Combinations range from putting your favorite booze, espresso, or put your own fun milkshake in for an added twist to a classic.

There are a plethora of flavors ranging from birthday cake to chocolate chip cookie. And for the month of October, ChocAmo is selling a limited edition pink lemonade cup. The cups made with a sugar cookie base with pink lemonade cream cheese frosting. Okay, yum. These were half empty by the end of our writer’s meeting and they were downed by the end of the night with some ice cream inside.

The best part about this flavor isn’t only how cute and yummy it is, but that it’s for a good cause. A portion of the proceeds from the Pink Lemonade Cookie Cup will benefit Wish Upon A Wedding, a nonprofit that helps couples affected by terminal illness throw the wedding they always dreamed of. We all have Pinterest boards of our dream wedding so helping someone live theirs makes me feel a little better when I buy these cups in bulk. Also throughout the month, ChocAmo will be partnering with other charities for great causes. You can order your cups here or buy them in store at Di Bruno Brothers and whole foods.
