Stan Wright
Birthday: May 11
Age: 21
Major: Communication
Hometown: Coronado, California
Hobbies: Amateur piano player. I started when I was 6, getting sheet music of popular songs and putting my own twist on it. I also enjoy painting acrylic on canvas, mostly for me. I mess around with it. Right now I’m working on a “Dia de los Muertos” inspired piece.
Stan is an extreme sports enthusiast!: I love watching YouTube vids of crazy stunts and occasionally doing them myself when I get the chance. So far I’ve been bungee jumping, paragliding, skydiving, and I’ve done high adventure stuff, which is like a canopy obstacle course. I’ve also been ziplining in California, Costa Rica and North Carolina. For my next trick I want to try Flyboarding! I also just got a longboard skateboard. I love cruising down Market Street!
He has some pretty cool interests…: I’m also really into documentary films. I’ve been on a huge kick lately. Some of my favorites are “Stories We Tell,” “180 Degrees South,” “The Cove,” and “Man On Wire.” I hope to work on documentaries some day. Other than that I love going to breweries and discovering beer. Beer is God or Buddha’s or Morgan Freeman’s gift to mankind.
…AND he’s a “Jack of All Trades:” Writing is a passion of mine. In the past I’ve written news, but I recently took a comedy class for which we had to produce funny pieces of fiction, and I loved it!I could also see myself writing a screenplay. And then there’s my love of production. I work for a morning news show and love going out on shoots and providing creative input for how segments are edited and written. I’ve also been volunteering at Walnut Hill Community Farm at 46th & Market. They do Community Supported Agriculture which is a great way of engaging people from all different backgrounds with farming and eating healthy. I pack the weekly CSA produce boxes and work the farmstand on Thursdays.
