Campus Cutie: Jennifer Lam!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Drexel chapter.

Jennifer Lam

Age: 19

Major: Secondary English Education

Class: 2016

What are your hobbies? Recently, I have discovered a love for cooking. It feels good to cook not only for yourself, but also to feed those you care about. Besides being an amateur home-chef, I also enjoy writing, online shopping, and interpretive dancing.

Are you involved in any student orgs? Yes, I am currently the assistant editor of the style section of the Triangle.

What is your favorite part about Drexel? I love Philadelphia and how connected Drexel is to the city. Not only does this provide more access to opportunities and events, but it also satisfies my need for delicious food and retail therapy.

Why did you choose Drexel? I was accepted into Drexel’s new 4 year B.S./M.S. Education program. Currently my B.S. is in Secondary English Education and my M.S. is Creativity and Innovation. I am a nerd that loves a good bargain, so Drexel is a perfect match for me.

What has been the best moment you have had here? It’s difficult to just pinpoint one moment but the first week of freshman year, I was just getting to know my new roommate when we both broke into “Love Will Find a Way” from Lion King II surprisingly at the same exact time. Since then we’ve been terrorizing the world with our renditions of Disney songs, and now she is one of my closest friends here.

What do you want to do after you graduate?: My heart will always belong to teaching and education. However, I want to be able to offer wisdom and experience to my students, so I do not necessarily see myself teaching immediately after graduation. My position on The Triangle has really sparked my interest in writing in the fashion industry. Luckily my Creativity and Innovation masters degree will be extremely versatile in the workplace, so I am excited to see what comes in the future.
