Designer of Granate Couture, Annina King, graduated from Drexel University with a masters in Fashion Design. She has been making custom garments since 2007, but her ready-to-wear collection launched in 2012. Soon after she was inducted into the 2013 Macy’s Philadelphia Fashion Incubator class. Over the past year, King has worked beside fellow Incubator students Melissa and Pia Panaligan, Trisha Williams, Devin Pauley, and Leah Delfiner. Under Macy’s guidance these ladies have grown their businesses and expanded their collections. On Thursday, September 19th, the designers showcased their Spring 2014 collections during a fashion show at Macy’s as a part of The Philadelphia Collection. It’s apparent from the photos that Granate Pret is inspired by King’s love of history and historic costumes. She likes to capture natural elements in her work such as references to leaf veins, muscle grups, branches, streams, and especially trees. Historical looks for the modern woman. Take a look..
