Christmas songs, decorating the tree, Christmas lights and exciting presents are things that we all love to associate with the magical holiday of Christmas. However, we must not forget that one of the best things about this holiday are the  Christmas movies that we love to watch while cuddled up on the couch with hot chocolate.

Here are 10 Christmas movies you can enjoy watching on Netflix, either with a comforting beverage in hand or with friends and family around you, this Christmas:

Polar Express

This is the ideal movie to watch with your family. This classic, animated Christmas movie is the perfect blend of lighthearted, mysterious fun. You could either watch this to jog your memory and remind you of your childhood or you could watch this with friends and family for a new and exciting experience.

Netflix Description: In this warm-hearted tale, a young boy’s faith in the holiday spirit is revived after he makes his way by train to the North Pole on Christmas Eve.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

This classic movie can take us back to our childhoods and can provide us some laughs along the way. Watch this movie this Christmas when you want to get yourself feeling cheered up, excited and enthusiastic.

Netflix Description: The Grinch decides to rob Whoville of Christmas– but a dash of kindness from little Cindy Lou Who and her family may be enough to melt his heart.

Holidate

This new movie is fun to watch either with your friends or at the end of a busy day. Full of jokes, recognizable faces and emotional scenes, this movie is heartwarming in a way that is familiar yet unique.

Netflix Description: Fed up with being single on holidays, two strangers agree to be each other’s platonic plus-ones all year long, only to catch real feelings along the way.

Let It Snow

This movie explores the lives of a few people through different angles. Each story is heartwarming, memorable and interesting in its own way. This Christmas movie is different from every modern Christmas movie.

Netflix Description: A snowstorm hits a small midwestern town on Christmas Eve, bringing together a group of highschool students. They soon find their friendships and love lives colliding, and on Christmas morning, nothing will be the same.

A Christmas Prince

Although this movie can come off as a bit cheesy at first, it is one of those movies that you just can’t stop watching. A Christmas Prince plays on our childhood desire to be a princess, while getting us excited about Christmas in the process!

Netflix Description: Christmas comes early for an aspiring young journalist when she’s sent abroad to get the scoop on a dashing prince who’s poised to be king.

The Holiday Calendar

Watch this movie if you like Christmas movies with an element of magic to them. If you used to watch the Vampire Diaries, you would notice that Kat Graham (a.k.a. Bonnie ) is the main character in this movie, which definitely is a reason to click on this movie.

Netflix Description: A photographer inherits an antique Advent calendar that seems to predict her future — including a budding romance.

The Princess Switch

Vanessa Hudgens is what initially made people click on this movie and give it a chance but the plot, writing and cast definitely makes you want to keep watching. The movie has an elegant and magical way of approaching Christmas.

Netflix Description: When a down-to-earth Chicago baker and a soon-to-be princess discover they look like twins, they hatch a Christmas time plan to trade places.

Holiday in the Wild

This movie is different from any of the other movies, being that it is not the typical, Christmas tree, Christmas lights, snow and carolers type of Christmas movie. Most of this movie is set in Africa and takes on an empathetic view of other ways one can spend a holiday.

Netflix Description: When her husband abruptly ends their marriage, empty nester Kate embarks on a solo second honeymoon in Africa, finding purpose — and potential romance. Watch all you want.

Whether or not it is snowing outside, or you have hot chocolate in your hand or even if it isn’t Christmas quite yet, these movies will make you feel like Christmas is all around you.
