7 Beach Essentials for Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Drexel chapter.

Just when we thought spring was here to stay, east coast whether decided to make it rain, sleet and snow. But fear not, spring break is rapidly approaching. In these final weeks of class or co-op, you’re bound to be dreaming of warmer days. Stop worrying about your bikini body and start to focus on what you’ll need in your carry-on for the beach instead. Here are just a few essentials that should be on your packing list.

1. For the final weeks of class or co-op

Okay, before we jump into planning for vacation, we’ve got to make it through finals. Erin Condren planners are as aesthetically pleasing as they are functional. Throw your planner in your beach bag so you can plan the best vacation while balancing your school work. On island time? These planners come with cute stickers and stationary so you can write to your friends back home about how much fun you’re having.

2. For your beachy waves

When you’re on spring break, you don’t want to spend your precious time doing your hair. This Psssst! Tropical Dry Shampoo by Freeman Beauty is perfect for on-the-go travel to get rid of that weird residue from the mix of saltwater and sunscreen. Even after you come home, you can still smell like the tropic with this product.

3. For your sun-kissed skin

Sometimes you can’t always make it to the shore for a break. As they say, fake it until you make it. These self-tanning towelettes and lotion by L’Oreal are perfect for getting sun-kissed skin even without the sun. The towelettes are perfect to use before going out because you’ll see results in two hours. Additionally, this brand doesn’t have a gross smell like others, which is a win-win in our book.

4. For the aftermath of avoiding public restrooms

Being on the beach can sometimes mean not having the luxury of a clean restroom. If you’re anything like me, you like to do your business in comfort. Unfortunately, that doesn’t always work out in my favor. These urinary pain relief tablets by Cystex are perfect for when you’re feeling the effects of holding it in.

5. For reading under the sun

You can’t have a beach day without a good beach read. #ActuallySheCan is a feel-good read about women empowerment. This hashtag has become a movement to create a platform to discuss female achievement.

6. For hitting the boardwalk bars

From one lazy girl to another, doing your makeup after lying in the sun for hours seems daunting. A bright lip gives people the impression that you made an effort in your appearance even when you didn’t. Get the look with Charlotte Tilbury’s Hot Lips lipstick samples. Add some color to your pout and you’ll be on your way to enjoying a piña colada at the tiki bar in no time.

7. For dressing up your cover-up

Accessories are a girl’s best friends, but sometimes we’re too lazy to get dolled up. After a long day in the sun, put on your cover up, some sandals and a bracelet to dress it up. This Juicy Couture bracelet screams beachy (literally), which makes it perfect for spring break.

Hang in there, dragons! Spring break is just around the corner. Don’t forget to pack your carry on with these beach essentials. Want to win these products? Keep an eye out for details on our third annual Co-Op Couture fashion show and you might get lucky.
