6 Delicious Holiday Drinks You Have to Try This Season

The holidays are here! Get festive with these six drink recipes!

Boozy Peppermint Hot Chocolate

A classic! You can nix the peppermint schnapps for a non-alcoholic version!

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup peppermint schnapps
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 ½ tbsp sugar
  • Whipped cream, for topping
  • Candy Canes, for garnish

Add milk, cocoa powder, and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat.

Stir until the cocoa and sugar is dissolved and the mixture is warm.

Add peppermint schnapps to a mug, and top off with hot chocolate.

Top it off with whipped cream and a candy cane for garnish!

Christmas Sangria

You can never go wrong with a sangria! This sangria recipe has that holiday seasonal twist and it’s also easy and festive!

Serves: 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle red wine
  • 2 cups cranberry or pomegranate juice
  • ½ cup apple cider
  • ¼ cup brandy
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 green apple, chopped
  • 1 cup cranberries

Add fruit to a large pitcher. Combine the remaining ingredients separately, add to pitcher with fruit and stir to combine.

Refrigerate until chilled. I recommend making the sangria the night before so it will have more flavor!

Cranberry Pineapple Punch

Delicious and refreshing! You can nix the rum for a non-alcoholic drink.

Servings 8-10

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups cranberry juice
  • 4 cups pineapple juice
  • 1 cup silver rum
  • 1 cup coconut rum
  • 2 liters ginger ale
  • Juice of 1-2 limes
  • 2 limes, sliced for garnish
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries, for garnish

Combine cranberry juice, pineapple juice, silver and coconut rum, and lime juice in a pitcher.

Add limes slices and cranberries to the mixture.

Top off with ginger ale.

North Pole Cocktail

This cocktail has it all! It’s sweet, chocolatey with a hint of peppermint and ginger! Basically Christmas in a cup, what more can you want?

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup vodka
  • ¼ cup Kahula
  • 2 tbsp chocolate syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tsp molasses
  • 1/8 tsp ground ginger
  • ½ cup whole milk or heavy cream
  • Whipped cream, for topping
  • Candy canes, for garnish

In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, Kahula, chocolate syrup, vanilla, molasses, and ground ginger. Shake until well combined.

Add ice and shake again.

Strain into glasses and top off with milk or heavy cream.

Top off with whipped cream and garnish with a candy cane.

Cranberry Moscow Mule

A Moscow mule is a classic, but this recipe also has that holiday seasonal twist!

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz (¼ cup) cranberry juice
  • 2 oz (¼ cup) vodka
  • ¼ cup lime juice, extra for garnish
  • 3 oz. ginger beer
  • 1 handful fresh or frozen cranberries

Combine cranberry juice, vodka, and lime in a glass with ice. Top with ginger beer, cranberries, and garnish with a lime wedge.

Santa’s Nightcap

This drink is basically a spiked Chai tea latte. Coziness in a mug! Again, nix the alcohol for a delicious spiced Chai Latte!

Ingredients:

  • 8 chai tea bags
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2-inch piece fresh ginger, or about 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 ½ cups bourbon
  • Ground cinnamon, for garnish

Bring 6 cups of water to a boil in a large pot. Remove from heat, add tea bags, cover and let steep for 15-30 minutes.

Remove tea bags and stir in milk and honey.

Place the pot over medium heat and add cinnamon sticks and ginger, stirring often until mixture is steaming. Stir in bourbon.

Pour drink into mugs and top off with a dusting of cinnamon!
