14 College Struggles as Told by Disney Princesses

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Drexel chapter.

College is a transformative time where you learn a great deal about the world, challenge yourself, and make lots of memories with friends. You prance around listening to the songs of the birds like Snow White, happy as can be that you’ve woken up before noon to see another day. But, some days you feel like Cinderella dutifully finishing your homework while your evil stepsisters go out and party. For all the ups and downs you experience in college, the Disney Princesses know exactly what you’re going through.

1. It’s the first week of school, and classes have begun! You get to class on the first day and realize that, thanks to the quarter system, you already have 15 assignments, a quiz, and group project due. Welcome to Drexel!

2. When you signed up for that 8 a.m. class you promised yourself you would be productive, but now that you’re actually awake, you feel like death.Can’t. Move.

3. With so many responsibilities to juggle, who has time to cook every day? But you finally realize how much money you’ve spent on GrubHub in a single week, and suddenly you feel sick. You don’t have to tell your parents about this, right?

4. . You learn that you’re not always going to get along with everyone. But when the person you’re at odds with happens to be your roommate, things can get especially messy. The claws are out!

5. You have to endure the food from the dining hall, all while trying to avoid gaining the freshman 15.The extra weight doesn’t affect princesses; it’ll all go to your crown.

6. You’re trying to get through finals week without having a nervous breakdown.Be strong.

7. You scour the web for the best deals on textbooks because you need to save the few dollars you have to your name. Are books really that important anyway?

8. There’s always that one professor who doesn’t believe in curving the grades for difficult exams … or teaching the material on the test for that matter. You would rather be poisoned by an apple than study for this exam.

9. You’re secretly hoping to meet your prince charming in the next four to five years.Enter handsome stranger on a white steed.

10. You have to deal with that one boy at the party who can’t seem to take a hint. It’s called personal space.

11. You live for the amazing feeling of not having to set an alarm for the next morning and getting to sleep in.Zzzz…

12. You feel like you’ve got your life together because you finally decided on a major … only to change it a year later. Hey, you still have a few years, right?

13. After a long week of stressful professors, exams, and tons of homework, you are ready to have some fun with your friends tonight. Messy bun and sweatpants be gone!

14. Despite the ups and downs, you know you’ll be wishing you could do it all over again at the end of your four or five years.Where does the time go?

Sometimes college can be hard, so when you’re drowning in homework and feel like crying, just remember you’re a beautiful princess. If Rapunzel could stay locked in a tower for 18 years, you can survive four years of college. In the end, you’ll have your diploma to tote around …or maybe you could sport a tiara.
