10 Delicious Brunch Places to Try in Philadelphia

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Drexel chapter.

Who doesn’t love brunch? No, seriously, who doesn’t. Whether you love it or not, brunch is inarguably one of the best ways to start or end a stressful week, especially when your entire coursework is crammed into 10 weeks. In our City of Brotherly Love, many places serve up some delicious brunches. Her Campus Drexel has compiled a list of 10 places you must try for brunch, ranging from student budget friendly to a well-deserved splurge!

1. Sabrina’s Cafe:

Right in Drexel’s backyard we have the most delicious challah stuffed french toast. Ask anybody, the 15 (sometimes 45) minute wait for your table on Sunday morning is worth it. And ever so often they have the coolest theme for their menus. Imagine ordering from a Beyoncé playlist.

2. Green Eggs Café:

If you’re trying to get off campus, Green Eggs Café in Midtown Village provides you with the opportunity to have a tasty brunch with a new view. It’s a great place to stop before a little shopping in Center City! Make it into a girls’ day by making a reservation with your friends, and use it as a chance to try their crème brûlée french toast.

3. Cafe Lift:

Located in Callowhill, this food gem is just a few minutes walk away from 13th Street Station. From the outside, it may not look like much, but the hipster vibe on the inside will leave you feeling right at home. Their cannoli french toast is to die for. It’s cash only, but there’s an ATM conveniently located in the café if you forget!

4. White Dog Cafe:

If you’re a dog-lover, then this place was made for you. Located in University City at 34th and Sansom, this dog-themed restaurant has the double advantage of being scrumptious and having cute dog decor. Although it’s pricier than other places on this list, the decor and more importantly the food will make you want to spend the 4 or 5 extra dollars. The furnishings will make you go “awww!” and the food will make your stomach go “yum!”

5. Day by Day:

Just across the bridge at 21st and Sansom streets, this place is known for its casual and cozy atmosphere. Try the Tiramisu stuffed challah french toast. They always have great weekly specials so you can try something new whenever you go.

6. Savas:

Although this place is not known for its brunch, I have been informed by a reliable source (my BFF; because friends who brunch together stay together!), that it’s amazing! I plan on trying it out next term. She highly recommends ChocoLove (French Toast, Nutella and Bananas). Yum!!!

7. Continental:

Don’t let the name Continental Martini Bar fool you. By night, they might serve awesome cocktails, but by day, they also have one of the best brunch menus in town. But if you still want that cocktail with your meal, go for it!

8. Jones:

Jones gives you a blast from the past with every meal. It’s comfort food situated in a replica of the Brady Bunch living room. Talk about a Brady Bunch Brunch! And before you leave, you have to try the monkey bread.

9. So Crêpe:

Located on South Street, So Crêpe does exactly what its name implies; it provides you with yummy crepes. Any flavor, any kind! They pride themselves in making fresh food right in front of you, so know they’re not just claiming to serve fresh ingredients.

10. IHOP:

It would be wrong on so many levels to mention brunch and leave this affordable option out. And it needs no introduction because even if you have never tasted the deliciousness that is the International House of Pancakes, you have heard about it. Hop on the El or a bus and head down to 13th Street to indulge in this brunch staple.

Looking forward to the fabulous brunch places options you have near Drexel can definitely help relieve any pressure you may be feeling as the end of term approaches. Not even the upcoming finals week will shake off the excitement that comes with the promise of french toast and good coffee.
