Everything that You Need to Know About Love Your Body Week 2017

Love Your Body week is an annual event on Dickinson’s campus that aims to encourage everyone to love their bodies and decrease fat stigma. This week is co-sponsored by the Women’s and Gender Resource Center, the Clarke Forum for Contemporary Issues, Psychology Club, PALS, the departments of women’s, gender & sexuality studies, psychology and theatre & dance, Office of LGBTQ Services, Popel Shaw Center for Race and Ethnicity, President’s Commission on Women, Gender, and Sexuality, the Wellness Center, Waidner-Spahr Library and Psi Chi. Every year, Love Your Body sponsors on-campus events such as yoga, workshops and keynote speakers.

The keynote speaker for Love Your Body week 2017 is Sonya Renee Taylor. Taylor is the founder of The Body is Not an Apology Movement. She is also an author, poet, spoken word artist, speaker, activist and educator.

Monday, February 20: Kickoff Soiree at 7 PM in the Social Hall

Tuesday, February 21: Yoga for Every Body at 12 PM in the HUB Dance Studio

Tuesday, February 21: Trans Salon at 5 PM in Allison Community Room

Wednesday, February 22: Dickinson Rising: Live at the Library at 12 PM in the Waidner-Spahr Library

Thursday, February 23: Let’s Eat Dinner at 5 PM in the Social Hall

Thursday, February 23: Your Body is Not an Apology Keynote Speaker: Sonya Renee Taylor at 7 PM in ATS

Friday, February 24: “Fat Chance” Article Discussion led by Professor Amy Farrell at 12 PM in Althouse 106

Friday, February 24: 10 Tools for Radical Self Love with Sonya Renee Taylor at 4:30 PM in Allison Community Room
