For those that read my article on the Jonas Brothers song “Sucker,” you will know that I am a big fan of the song. When I heard the Jonas Brothers were releasing another single, I started counting down the minutes until midnight on April 3 hoping it would be another bop.

While I do enjoy “Cool,” it was not the song I expected to come from them. In fact, I would argue that it isn’t really a Jonas Brothers song but instead a Nick Jonas song. Joe gets one verse all to himself and once again, Kevin is ignored. I expected a song that would make me want to dance and this song kind of makes me want to slowly step and clap to the beat with little to no emotion. The song is incredibly repetitive. This may be because the end of every line of the chorus rhymes and therefore sounds almost the same. It also doesn’t help that “cool” is echoed endlessly. Honestly, I find the song a little hard to understand as the breathiness of Nick’s falsetto makes everything sound so similar.

My favorite thing about the song is the music video when Kevin has two parrots sitting on either arm (This isn’t even about the song which should clue you in on my true feelings about it) I think we need more clips like this and especially more clips of Kevin! In terms of future songs and music videos, I do hope that Kevin makes a greater appearance and that the Jonas Brothers do not turn into “Nick Jonas featuring Joe Jonas with accompaniment by Kevin Jonas.” At the end of the day, I would not put this song on any of my playlists and if it started playing on the radio, I would probably change the station because I am already sick of it.
