It’s almost finals week and that means procrastinating work with watching TV!! I really love watching cooking shows, so here are five great shows to watch. Just make sure you have something to snack on while you watch because I find it impossible to watch people cook food and not eat something myself.

The Great British Baking Show

I was obsessed with this show before I studied abroad in England and I love it even more now. Twelve home bakers compete each weekend in three different challenges to create amazing looking desserts. The contestants are so nice to each other and even help each other out when they need it. It’s honestly so wholesome and I love it.

The Final Table

This show on Netflix features 24 chefs, in pairs of two, competing in rounds based on a country’s cuisine. The goal is to make it to the finale where one chef will win a seat at the final table, selected by extremely talented chefs from each country. The way this show is shot is gorgeous. It includes aerial shots of the chefs cooking, which really gives you a new perspective.

Chopped

Chopped is one of my favorite shows on TV. Each round features a basket of ingredients that the chefs must use when they’re cooking. Somehow there is always a chef who forgets an ingredient or leaves something off the dish when they’re plating. The concept of the show is so smart since there are endless possibilities of ingredients that the chefs can be given.

Top Chef

I have been a fan of Top Chef for a long time since it’s a show my dad watches. You can always see the passion the professional chefs have for cooking and they always end up creating delicious looking dishes. Season 16 just started last week, so there’s plenty of time to join in and start watching this season!

Guy’s Grocery Games

Guy Fieri has a lot of shows on the Food Network, but Guy’s Grocery Games is by far my favorite. Four chefs compete in the Flavortown Market to create dishes that will hopefully take them to the end where they have a chance to earn $20,000. Each round throws a new challenge at them, like only having $5.00 to spend on groceries or having to include a frozen food, and watching chefs think quickly on their feet is always entertaining.
