Nicholas Sparks is the one man that makes females all around the world emotional with his words (In his books and movies, of course). This screenwriter and novelist has published 18 novels, and 11 of his romantic novels have been adapted into films. Everyone has their favorite, however which one of these movies was the best when it comes to the box office?

1. The Last Song

Budget: 20 million

Box Office: 89,041,656

We were all thrilled to see former Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus play in a serious role. We were even more excited when we found out her love interest in the movie was also her then boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth. However, most people doubted that Miley Cyrus could take on a part that wasn’t comedy, and they were kind of right. Despite all of the haters, the movie led to the engagement of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth.

2. The Notebook

    Budget: $29 million

    Box Office: $115,603,299

When you think about this movie, you can’t help but cry on the inside. After more than a decade, The Notebook is still one of Sparks’s best movies and was the first movie to launch his career. This movie has so many memorable scenes that it’s hard to choose just one favorite! Because of the movie’s instant success, it’s rumored that a television series might be in the works.

3. Dear John

    Budget: $25 million

    Box Office: $144,977,104

Channing Tatum danced his way into our hearts with Step Up and made us laugh in She’s the Man. Now, we all fell in love when our handsome Tatum starred in a romantic film. Sparks has this soft spot for love letters in his films, and it remains the third highest grossing film by Nicholas Sparks. With its happy ending, this film is an all-time favorite.

4. A Message in a Bottle

    Budget: $80 million

    Box Office: $118,880,016

This was the first Nicholas Sparks book to be adapted into a movie, and it has been one of his top  moneymakers. In this movie, the characters are much older than we are used to watching, so many people in our generation are not as interested in watching. But, for those who want to try out the book that started it all, the movie is about a woman who finds a letter in a bottle and tracks down its owner.
