Taylor Swift really made America jealous with her kickass squad. But she really wasn’t the first girl to have a #squad. So many TV shows contain squads that really define what friendship is. Friendship is loyalty, trust, kindness and love. Having a squad means that you have a main group of friends you are consistently with, and who you can rely on. Also defined as a crew, posse or gang, a squad is an informal group of individuals with a common identity and a sense of solidarity. Here are a three great TV shows and their legendary squads.
1. Sex and the City
New York City is way too big to not have a squad. Too many clubs, too many bars, too many guys to tackle by yourself. This is the single squad, looking for fun, shopping for shoes and who love being in the big city. Your squad will hold you up when you keep making the same mistakes, and they will help you through those rough breakups. While there may be plenty of guys that you go through, you will always have your squad. And just like Charlotte says, “Maybe we could be each other soulmates and guys could be these things we have fun with.”
2. Pretty Little Liars
Every squad has one rule – what’s said in the group does not leave the group. This secretive squad is super tight because of the secrets they have to keep from those around them. If one falls, they all fall. You need a squad like this – one that you can trust and that can protect you no matter what. These four girls go through thick and thin, so trust is a must.
3. Desperate Housewives
What’s the main purpose of having a squad? Of course, one might say to have each other’s backs, but also to gossip with! This squad of housewives shares every piece of information with each other. I would not have guessed that housewife neighbors would be a legit squad. These group of girls go through so many changes in their lives: cancer, death, divorce and even murder. However, with a tall glass of wine, they always get through it.
