The Perks of Using Natural Deodorant

The Perks of Using Natural Deodorant

As someone with anxiety, stress sweat was always something that I had to deal with so a nice strong deodorant has always been my best friend. I tried many different anti-perspirant deodorants over the years from gels to powders and even some men’s deodorants. And even though the kept me from having pools of sweat under my arms and smelling bad they never quite felt right. I would always be left with some type of irritation and some days my underarms would even be sore, so I decided to look into some alternatives and this lead me to natural deodorant.

The first thing that had me skeptical about natural deodorant was the fact that it wasn’t an anti-perspirant so I would actually have to sweat. After a little research I learned that sweating is good! Anti-perspirants can clog the pores and cause sweat build up underneath the skin which leads to that dreadful irritation. It is also blocks the good bacteria in the underarm area from working and can literally make your sweat smell worse.  Research also told me that some common ingredients in anti-perspirants have been linked to diseases because the chemicals are being absorbed through the skin.

So I made the switch. After three months of experimenting with natural deodorant, I personally no longer have the same irritation that I used to have under my arms. I also noticed that when I do sweat that it’s basically odorless. Natural deodorant gets two thumbs up from me.
