Coming into 2020  I had goals that I wanted to accomplish. One of the goals I wanted to meet was saving money. For the first time I started a year with a part time job. I was going to save my weekly paychecks for the whole year, or until I saved a certain amount. I currently work as a banquet server. So, whenever there was an event I worked, some weeks were better than others, but I was still bringing home a check every week. At some point it got really slow, there were less and less events. I decided to look at other departments and see if they needed help. I was able to get a job as a server in one of the restaurants. Working in the restaurant I took a pay cut, but I was okay with it because I was still making money. The one thing I loved about being a server was the tips I was making. I would work there 2 to 3 times a week and depending on how long my shift was I was making 60 to 100 dollars a night. I worked in the restaurant off and on for about 3 weeks. In that time, I was able to save 500 dollars, I was so proud. With the spread  of Covid-19 my job temporarily closed and the money saved turned into an emergency fund. I now know the importance of saving money.
