HBCU Week Was Back!

Delaware had just finished celebrating HBCU week in Wilmington. This year, Delaware State University had teamed up with HBCU week for an exciting series of events. What is an HBCU? An HBCU is a historical black college or university. There are approximately 107 HBCU’s and Delaware State University is one of them! So you may be wondering what goes on during HBCU week?

• 7th and 8th Grade College Tour at Delaware State University

Wednesday, September 18th

• Currency Conversation with JP Morgan Chase

• HBCU Alumni Professional Networking Reception

• R&B Concert hosted by Blake Saunders: featuring Ari Lennox

HBCU week was created to promote awareness to students in high schools and parents that are interested in attending a historically black college or university.  Therefore, the events are a mixture of fun and educational.  Those who participated in planning and executing HBCU week were students who attended or currently attend an HBCU.  If you are interested in attending or want to know more about an HBCU in the local Delaware area.  Take a campus tour of Delaware State University and see if its the right college for you!
