The First African American to Sit On Delaware’s Supreme Court

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at DESU chapter.

Tamika Montgomery-Reeves had recently visited Delaware State University for a Fireside Chat.  Moderated by the President of the university, Tony Allen.  This program was held so the community and students could get to know her and her accomplishments that have greatly impacted the African American community.  Tony Allen had asked questions about her path to get where she is today, a few of those questions included her experience as a lawyer and as a resident of Delaware, what was a significant challenge how did you overcome it, how the judicial court system works, and how networking has impacted her career.

After the Fireside Chat ended, questions were open to the public.  From this overall experience and honor of Tamika Reeves coming to the university, we learned a lot.  We are thankful for her making time to come and talk with the students.  Below is a background of Tamika Montgomery-Reeves.
