CARDI B DOES NOT DESERVE THE BACKLASH SHE HAS RECEIVED FOR HER HISTORIC WIN

Cardi B’s historic win this past Sunday night at the Grammy’s has received tremendous amounts of backlash rather than celebration. Shortly, after the backlash, Cardi deactivated her Instagram. Before deactivating it, she posted a cryptic note to her page. “I used to want this s—t foreva,” she wrote. “Ya can have it back!” The backlash stemmed from her winning Best Rap Album for her album “Invasion of Privacy”. Nominated alongside her were Pusha T for “Daytona”,  Nipsey Hussle for “Victory Lap”, Travis Scott for “Astroworld”, and the late Mac Miller for “Swimming”. Majority of the backlash was caused by her win over Miller. Various people complained that Miller’s family should not have been invited to attend if they knew he was not going win. However, shortly after she won, Cardi proclaimed backstage that she’s sharing the Grammy with him. According to an UsWeekly report, Miller’s family wanted her to win the award if he didn’t. Despite all of this,  Cardi’s Instagram remained filled with trolls and haters.  It is honestly unbelievably disgusting how mean people can be. People tend to be forgetful of the fact that celebrities are no less than human than we are. They are not immune to emotions and having feelings. To tear someone down for accomplishing something so historic as well as something that was out of their control is ridiculous. Also, being spiteful and rude through a screen is cowardly. Cardi B  earned and deserved that award. She has hustled, bent over backward, and has made tons of sacrifices to be where she is today. Her work ethic has produced recording breaking- historic achievements and bops of course. Her being the first woman to win this category is not only is a prestigious achievement; however, a token to women especially those of color that their dreams are valued, and can be turned into reality. OKURR! Surprisingly, after a two-day hiatus, Cardi has reactivated her Instagram to promote a new song with Bruno Mars dropping this Friday, February 15th.  Props to Cardi for being so brave!
