Being out of state is rough, wither it’s just a few hours away or more than ten hours.  It is tough for some but opposite for others, but below are some tips to make it easier:

1) Keep goals in mind

– Having goals can keep your mind occupied and being homesick will not occur as often.

2) Make friends

    – In college, there are many people from in-state and out of state.  Wither you’re an introvert or extrovert, sometimes the only option is making the first move.

3) Adapt to the environment

    – We are located in the suburbs, therefore you just have to settle with what is available.  For example meet new people, join an organization, focus on a hobby, and etc.

4) Get comfortable

    – It takes time to get used to the transition between high school and college.  Once comfortable,     everything gets easier.

5) Make the best of it

    – Not only is it college, but your away from your parents and homes.  Many student’s dream of     this opportunity along with even attending college.  Take every opportunity and college experience worthwhile.

6) YOLO
