5 Podcasts to Check Out

Lately, I’ve been on this whole podcast road. Podcast are great because they’re short shows and don’t involve commercials, unlike the radio. Podcast can have a variety of topics. Everything from religion and relationships to cooking and school can be discussed on them. If you’re new to podcast, or you’re just looking for something new to listen to, here’s five you should consider!

 

Another Round

            Another Round is essentially BuzzFeed for black women. BuzzFeed’s editors Heben Nigatu and Tracy Clayton do a weekly podcast that’s the perfect mix of politics and girl talk. You can listen to Another Round on:

BGIO is an organization that is the go-to for all things pertaining to wellness, self-care, and self-love for black women. On their podcast, founder Lauren Ash and art director Deun Ivory will uplift you, affirm and inform you. They have interviews with a variety of people and they plan to inspire you with the podcast. Keia and Jade, of Gettin’ Grown, is essentially what Grown-ish would sound like if it was two best friends who were discussing their lives as adults. On My Grown is another podcast about adulting. Both hosts of this particular podcast come from HBCUs.  Rodney is a graduate of Morehouse while Melanie is a graduate of FAMU. Rodney and Melanie are pretty much like us. Trying to figure things out beyond graduation. This podcast mixes millennial confusion and struggles with comedy.
