Your Quarantine Fashion Essentials

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at DePauw chapter.

First things first, I hope everyone that is reading this is safe. The world is a scary place right now, so I hope you are all taking the necessary precautions to keep yourselves mentally and physically healthy.

On a lighter note, I hope you are all making the best of your quarantine lives, whether that means catching up on your favorite Netflix show, reading that book that you haven’t had the time to open up, or finding a solution to World Hunger (lol). In all seriousness though, I hope no one feels like they have to use this time to change the world or do something monumental with their lives. As much as I have loved the positivity on social media, I have seen quite a bit of posts urging people not to waste this time; to use this time to do something BIG. I can imagine that while it comes from the right place, these messages can make some people feel very pressured to come out on the other end having “accomplished” something. But I’m here to tell you that if you are taking care of your well-being, thinking of others by staying home, and not letting fear take over, you are impacting the world and those in your life more than you know. We will get through this, so remember to be safe and give a little extra love to the people in your life in the meantime.

Anyways, I’m here to share with you a few of my favorite fashion essentials for the quarantine lifestyle! In the midst of all the chaos and fear in the world, little things like cozying up in our favorite pajamas or slipping on our favorite fuzzy socks can give us a warmth and safety that is so needed in such a time as this. So, if cozy essentials are on your wish list, whether for feeling productive in your e-learning environment or preparing for Netflix, look no further! Below is a list of items (with links to specific products of course!) to help make your quarantine life as relaxing and comfortable as possible.

Soft Pajama Sets

Okay, I went a little crazy here, but full disclosure, I’ve always been a little bit obsessed with pajamas. As you can see, a wide range of weather conditions are accounted for here, from fleece-knit pjs for cold nights to shirt-and-short sets for warm spring days. Cause as if the world isn’t crazy enough right now, the weather can’t seem to figure out what it wants to do either! Throwing on warm pjs is probably one of the best feelings in the world, and you can be sure that these ultra-soft sets (plus a onesie hehe) will keep you comfortable in your binge-watching, book-reading or schoolwork activities.

Now, in remembering to cozy up in some warm pajamas, we cannot be remiss in forgetting to cover up our feet, too! From stylish, ultra-soft socks to animal socks that make you smile, the ones linked above have got you covered.

Scrunchies!

This next essential is going to sound weird, but hear me out: as grateful as I am for the invention of the hair tie, ever since scrunchies became a trend, I’ve lowkey been opting for them over black hair ties whenever I can. And here’s why: they are so much softer on my head, and they don’t pull on my hair so much to the point that I sometimes get headaches. I may be the only one who feels this way, but nonetheless, soft scrunchies are a nice alternative to the rubber-band tight hair ties that we are used to, and your head will love you forever. I even included some unique, faux-fur scrunchies in case you want to spice it up a little.

Some Lounge Wear Outfits

Lastly, below I’ve included a few lounge outfits I’ve seen from my favorite fashion bloggers while in quarantine. Even though we are stuck in our houses, putting a little bit of effort into our outfits and appearances for the day can help us stay on a routine and feel more productive, so here’s some inspo!
