Honestly, existing is stressful. If you’re anything like me, at the end of the day you like to turn on a game that distracts you from reality. I have compiled a list of my absolute favorite games that are certain to provide a little bit of relief.

Animal Crossing New Horizons  – $41.99

This game is a bit pricey, and only available on the Nintendo Switch, but if you have the opportunity to get it, I think it is a must have. The slow paced game play is sure to slow down your mind, and this game is 100% customizable and you can let your creative side run wild. From the cutest characters to the sandbox style gameplay, ACNH is perfect for the student who desperately needs a break from day to day life.

Stardew Valley – $15.99

Stardew Valley is the gift that keeps on giving. This game, created by one sole developer, is a powerhouse of content. It is a classic farming simulator, but theres twists of magic and community. I have spent many hours of my life fully locked into this game. The 2-bit animation styles gives it a classic and nostalgic feel. This game can be find on PC, Xbox, Switch, and Playstation.

Disney Dreamlight Valley – $39.99

The classic characters from those movies we all watched as kids have found themselves in one world and the character you play as has to unlock the secret to why these beloved characters have forgotten who they are. The first storyline in this game is unforgetable and heartwarming. This game will heal the innerchild, and Wall-E is just so stinking cute.

Palia – Free

This is an open world MMOG where you play as a human on an Earth where humans have been extinct. The visuals of this game are ENOUGH for me to say its worth it, but the gameplay and quests are also phenomenal. I’m usually not the biggest fan of multiplayer games (who else remembers those Club Penguin cyber bullies), but the community in this game is one that I have found being the kindest group of gamers ever.
