Hi lovelies! So, I don’t know about you, but my quarantine diet is making my skin awful.  Luckily, though, I just found an AMAZING YouTuber who makes skincare super easy and affordable.  You also might have seen him on TikTok! His name is Hyram. He breaks down skincare myths in almost every video. Unknowingly, what people often do with their skincare routine actually is hurting their skin more.  I’m going to list the unknown facts about skincare here so it’s easy to read and straight to the point.

No Fragrance

If you have watched any of Hyram’s videos, you know that he hates fragrance.  Fragrance is completely unnecessary and can irritate the skin, especially if you have sensitive skin.

No Scrubbing

I’ve personally known about this for a while, ever since that scandal with Kylie Skin’s facial scrub.  Physical scrubs that have tiny beads in them are not only bad for your skin but bad for your environment.  Yes, they do the job, but the tiny beads are actually creating tiny microscopic cuts on your skin and can lead to more breakouts.  Also, a lot of products that have the beads in them are not easily decomposable and end up in our water supply which is no bueno ):

Hyram instead recommends chemical exfoliants.  They sound scary, but even the most sensitive skin can benefit and you only need to use it once a week.   He continuously recommends the super inexpensive, amazing peel from the Ordinary.  If you haven’t heard of the Ordinary, I’m right there with you.  But literally…. Pausing for dramatic effect… Almost all of their products are under $10 and people swear by them. Like half the comments are talking about how it changed their life.  I swear to god, if I buy a $10 peel and it literally gets rid of my acne and I have been trying to get rid of this since high school, I’m going to flip.  Anyways, the link to the peel he recommends is here.  You also might recognize this product because it just went viral on TikTok.

Makeup Wipes Suck

I know.  I’m feel like I’ve been lied to. I literally have used makeup wipes since seventh grade, and now I feel awful.  They are harsh and pull and tug on your skin, irritating it.  They don’t remove all of your makeup (in fact, Hyram recommends a double cleanse system). And… the worst part: they are awful for the environment.  Hyram recommends instead to try micellar water or makeup balm.

You Need Moisturizer

Even if you have oily skin, moisturizer is a must. Yup. I know. I’ve been lied to.

And that’s all the main points I have to sum up here. If you want to check out his channel and TikTok, I will leave the links here.  He truly is changing my skincare routine and the overall healthiness of my skin. My life has truly been forever changed.
