Little Ways to Do Christmas at College

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at DePauw chapter.

Hi everyone! Its December, which means it is officially Christmas (AKA the best time of the year)! Unfortunately, it is also finals season for most of us. With the stress and intensity of finals, it can often be hard to find the time and motivation to enjoy the holidays. I’m here to provide some little ways to bring Christmas into your busy routine.

Decorate

One of the best ways to get yourself into the holiday spirit is to decorate your dorm! Now, I’m not suggesting you go all out, but buying a couple decorations from the Target dollar section can definitely help your finals mood. My roommate and I covered our room in tinsel and paper snowflakes last year, and it made the room feel so warm and cozy whenever I was in there between study sessions.

Christmas Coffee

Another little thing you can do is get some holiday flavored coffee and hot cocoa! Getting some peppermint or cinnamon spice drinks will put you in the Christmas spirit with one simple sip.

Christmas Music

Listen to Christmas albums and songs while you study! I personally LOVE Kelly Clarkson’s album and study to it all the time during finals week! I listen to the slower songs because it helps me focus.

I hope these tips will help make your finals season easier, and your Christmas season better! Have a happy holiday, and I’ll talk to you in 2020!!!
