Hannah Hearon is a sophomore currently studying English Writing. In her spare time, she works as the poetry editor for A Midwestern review.
Her Campus: So, what is A Midwestern Review?
Hannah Hearon: A Midwestern Review is a literary magazine on campus run by students and supervised by Professor Joseph Heithaus. Students can submit their poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and art for possible publication. The current Editor-in-Chief is Hayden DeBruler (’17), and the Managing Editor is Mallory Hasty (’17). There are also additional editors and readers for each section.
HC: Do you have to be an English or art major to submit?
HH: No, you don’t have to be an English writing major to submit. People from all backgrounds are encouraged to send in their best work.
HC: Are there themes that vary from semester to semester?
HH: Some editions are themed, others are not. The fall edition did not have a theme. However, this semester focuses on the current political climate.
HC: How does one go about submitting their work?
HH: It’s really simple — just visit the submittable website. Here is the link: https://mwr.submittable.com/submit
HC: Perfect! Thank you so much for telling us at Her Campus about this!
