Welcome back to campus, Tigers! I don’t know about you, but this summer heat has my hair doing some crazy things. To avoid sticky hair on my neck (and to save some time), I’ve been wearing my hair up A LOT. Plus, I love a fun and fresh hair accessory. One trend I hopped on a little bit ago is the hair scarf. Let me tell you, 2019 is the year of the hair scarf, but you don’t need to fear anything because here is the complete guide to hair scarves.

First thing’s first, there are a couple different kinds of hair scarves, and depending on your needs and your style, you’re gonna want a different kind. Some are super light and easy to tie, or even braid into your hair, while others have more structure and are more bandana-esque. No matter what pattern or material you opt for, a hair scarf is sure to unlock new style options for you!

Let’s start with the fun, retro pony. This look gives me big GREASE vibes, and I am HERE for it! Put your hair in a fun, fluffy ponytail and simply tie a knot or bow depending on the length of the scarf and the look you’re going for!

You can do the last look with a high half-up, but my favorite look is a low half pony with a fun bow. This scarf is my personal favorite from Shop Flourish, a hair accessory line from one of my favorite bloggers! I wore it for round one of sorority recruitment last year and I got a TON of compliments. No matter the occasion, you can easily dress it up or down with this look!

If you are having a good hair day and just want it out of your face, this third look is for you! You want to make sure your hair scarf is long enough for this one, and if it’s too long, you can always opt for a bow instead of a knot! Sometimes the knot gets a little wonky, so I will tuck one of the ends to keep the knot centered, but however you rock this headband look, you’ll look super cute!

Hair scarves are a great way to add pizzazz to any outfit. Whether you are looking for a pop of color or a way to spice up your ponytail, hair scarves have your back!
