5 Gift Ideas to Get Your Significant Other this Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at DePauw chapter.

Have you been struggling with what to get your significant other this Valentine’s Day? Sometimes even the smallest gesture can make the biggest impact. That’s why I’ve compiled this list of gifts to get this year that anyone would be happy to receive. And who says all these gifts have to be for your significant other, spread more love this year, give them to your friends, your family, your teammate. Anyone you want to show appreciation for this Valentine’s Day.

  1. Their Favorite Foods/Candies

You can never go wrong with getting your significant other their favorite food or candy. I know I always look forward to people getting me something savory or sweet that I’ve been craving so I don’t have to buy it for myself.

2. A Sentimental Trinket

Whether this is a picture of the two of you, a date idea book, an inside joke, an adventure book, or even a book about the reasons why you enjoy each other. You’ll be sure to find something that hits close to home for the both of you.

3. Favorite Movie and a Meal

Looking to do something super low commitment but still sentimental this year? This is the perfect option. Put on their favorite movie and either cook your significant other their favorite meal or order it in for a chill date night.

4. A Gag Gift

Gag gifts can be so fun to break the ice and not worry about being all too serious, on a holiday that’s often treated that way. This can be a glass with a funny saying engraved on it, a funny t-shirt, a poop book, a giant spoon for ice cream, literally anything that resembles an inside joke the two of you have put onto an item.

5. Constellation of the Night You Met

This one is something pretty particular. I remember seeing these on the internet a couple of years ago and they have always been on my list. I think they are the cutest thing that means something more than just the two of you. Basically, you can get a snippet framed of the stars and constellations of the night you met. Like hello?! That’s a beautiful gift, especially for someone who is interested in those kinds of things.
