From the outrageous video full of vulgar lyrics, Panic! At the Disco broke out onto the scene with an incredible bang. When the words “I chime in with a haven’t you people ever heard of closing the goddamn door” are heard an immediate dance party ensues.

But that was ten years ago, and some people may have moved on from the Fever days and mellowed out to the chill vibes of Pretty Odd where we enjoyed imagining a life with Nine in the Afternoon.

And from there moved on further to the days of Mona Lisa.

Then the introduction of the lovely future spouse of our front man, Sarah.

After that was the hard hitting anthem This is Gospel that hit us all directly in our former emo-angsty teen feels.

And while reliving those glory, or lack thereof, days is all fun and nostalgia ridden, a change of pace was definitely on the horizon.

Being a fan since the very beginning, I have watched Brendon Urie grow and develop into the incredible musician he is today, and I could not be more proud to call myself a fan. He is a musical genius who does not get nearly enough credit in the world of entertainment. Musically, he is on an entirely different level than other musicians, yet he is one of the best front men that are currently gracing stages across the world.

Recognition is finally coming his way with Panic! At The Disco’s most recent album Death of a Bachelor debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 Chart. The album contains such strong vibes that will get your butt on the dance floor guaranteed, but also get your mind contemplating everything you’ve ever done, said, or even thought, all while making you realize why you fell in love with music in the first place. This is magic – from the Sinatra inspo, to the lovely representation of his marriage to Sarah, to the toxicity that is LA, all wrapped up into one killer record. The album has something for everyone and will definitely go down in musical history as Panic’s best album (so far!) as well as one of the greatest albums to come from 2016.

So, congrats to Brendon and the gang on an incredible kick off to 2016, and be sure to check them out on tour this summer with Weezer and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness! They’ll be rocking the Chicago Area July 10th at the Hollywood Casino Ampitheater.
