CELEBRATE FINANCIAL LITERACY MONTH THIS APRIL WITH THE “MAKE IT MAKE CENTS” SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN

The Financial Fitness program is taking over DePaul Central’s social media for the month of April to bring students financial knowledge, events, and prizes.

CHICAGO, IL (March 2021) – According to a 2020 University-wide survey, over 70% of DePaul students report having never been taught personal financial in high school.

Starting April 5th the Financial Fitness program is taking over DePaul Central’s Social Accounts (@depaulcentral) to start giving students that education. Each week a Peer Financial Advisor will provide students with information, graphics, and videos on a given financial topic, culminating in a 30-minute snap event on Friday covering that week’s topic in more detail. Students who attend the events will be mailed a DePaul Central goodie bag and if a student can’t attend the event but follows DePaul Central on social media and comments something they learned under a one of the April Fast Financial Videos they will also be mailed a goodie bag.

“Financial wellness is just as important as mental and physical wellness. Being financially well does not mean having lots of money. Financial wellness is understanding your financial picture and using that knowledge to improve your life now while preparing for the future. We hope this month of content will be a piece of the journey toward financial wellness for DePaul Students.” Said Natalie Daniels, Associate Director of the Financial Fitness Program
