“Your Campus Is The Runway.” This is the motto behind CollegeFashionistas.com. Amy Levin, a graduate from Indiana University, founded the site in 2009 during her senior year. She was over fashion magazines and the ridiculous outfits models wear on the runway. Her goal was to showcase everyday stylish women and have them inspire their peers around world. She wanted college women to have a place to show their fashion creativity on their campuses. Today at Denison University, Kappa Kappa Gamma sophomores, Natalie Hall and Katherina Kutter-Heinrich are the co-writers of the Denison chapter of CollegeFashionistas.
They met at freshman orientation in 2010 and have been close ever since. Both are creative women who love self-expression through fashion. Katherina, a California girl, worked at Juicy Couture in the shoe wear department for a summer internship in New York City. There she met a co-intern who worked for CollegeFashionistas and instantly was hooked. When she realized that Denison University was not on the site she jumped at the opportunity and applied. After selected as the President, she wanted other friends to work with her and spread their own style finds. Natalie Hall, a fashion forward Chicagoan took on the challenge and was accepted by CollegeFashionistas as the Denison-Fashionista Spotlight writer. Katherina works as the Style Advice writer.
Since Denison is a small school, the two of them are the only contributors to the sight. They both love the work but have a difficult time finding students who are willing to put themselves out there and strut their stuff. “We want to make it more popular and get people to share and get more involved. We’re always looking for new spotlights and people to blog about,” says Katherina.
