This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Denison chapter.

Recently a fellow writer here at Her Campus Denison shared her first experience shopping at a plus size store, a truly amazing  experience that every plus size lady should have access to. As In order to help my fellow plus size people I have compiled a list of stores (not sponsored) that have changed by shopping experience as a plus size woman. I have Ex I have excluded online only stores because I personally like being able to try things on before buying, call me old fashioned. Luckily for my budget babes, I am a cheap person who refuses to spend money most of these places here are budget friendly or can be with the help of coupons.

Torrid

Torrid is a great spot for any plus size person who want to keep up with the trends. The store is conscious of their demographic and all the employees are plus size people just like you, making shopping here a more comfortable experience. Torrid is on the pricier side, but I have found that the best time to shop is when the clearance section is buys two get two free. I have even gotten 4 pairs of shoes for as little as $50 dollars while taking advantage of this clearance. Why did I buy four pairs? Because all their shoes are wide fit, and with how hard those can be to find sometimes I went a little shopping crazy.

Lane Bryant

Many of my plus size peers have mixed feelings on Lane Bryant. It’s expensive and tends to have a more traditional style that caters more to older women. For those of us who are sick and tired of only having options that make us feel old, Lane Bryant is an odd choice to have on this list. But I cannot ignore that Lane Bryant has been a go to for many plus size women for years after all, they do offer a good selection of more business casual options. More important, I swear by their intimate line Cacique, which carries up to cup size K and although we all hate spending $50 dollars on a bra their quality is amazing and they last forever and wit some savvy coupon skills I have managed to get bras from them for as low as $20. Further They have swimsuits with built in bras, great for us large chested women who always struggle finding a bikini top what keeps it all in place

Rue 21+

Honestly Rue 21+ is one of my favorite places to go when I’m looking for more casual clothing. Cute tops and t-Shirts are what I shop for here, and price wise everything is pretty affordable. They also carry cute swimsuits and bras.

Forever 21+

In case you did not know Forever 21 does carry a plus size line. It’s most well-known for carrying budget friendly versions of  all the most recent trends. I recommend going a size up, since in my experience everything runs a little small.

Maurices

Maurices has a small plus size section but I have always found some real gems here. Definitely recommend doing your autumn and winter sweater shopping here because their selection of sweaters is always great. I also recommend their denim and their leggings.

Now go out there and find amazing pieces for your wardrobe!
