New Justin Timberlake: “The 20/20 Experience” Review

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Denison chapter.

After a seven-year hiatus, Justin Timberlake is back with “The 20/20 Experience”, his new album released on March 19th, and it was definitely worth the wait. With 10 tracks averaging on 7 minutes apiece, each song is interwoven with R&B-esque tones that will leave fans very entertained as they feel the groove down to their bones. “20/20” certainly assures, as did his previous album “FutureSex/LoveSounds, that JT has come a long way from his NSYNC days.

The album begins with “Pusher Love Girl” that intertwines a blend of old school R&B and JT’s sweet falsetto that will make any girl wish he were “a junkie for her love”. Following with the hit single “Suit & Tie” the combination of his killer vocals and a surprise performance from the always-cool Jay-Z gives us a “dance vibe” energy. Another great dance song on the album is “Let the Groove Get In” that has a strong beat and funky rhythm that’s perfect for a Friday night. The refreshing oddity of “Don’t Hold the Wall” syntheses multiple styled mixes into a truly interesting musical genius.

Let’s not forget tracks like “Spaceship Coupe” and “Strawberry Bubblegum” that highlight Justin’s beautiful falsetto that exude pure sensual energy that no girl can resist. Fans can see his sweeter side with “That Girl” as he croons about that one special girl and his softer, fragile side with “Mirrors” because every artist needs that perfect ballad. With beautiful performances like that “20/20” keeps us refreshed and entertained throughout the entire album and we feel his passion and emotion in every phrase, every beat, and every single “purely Justin” note.
