3 Easy Ways to Celebrate Halloween Last Minute

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Denison chapter.
With everything that is going on around campus, from tests and papers to Greek life events, it

can be pretty easy to forget about Halloween. Costumes and parties can be time-consuming and

expensive to plan, but there are still some ways to get in the Halloween spirit this weekend, even

if you’re running a little behind.

1. Start a Game of Ghosts in the Graveyard

This is a fun game that you might remember from your childhood that has some added fun on a

college campus.  Everyone counts with their eyes closed while one person, the ghost, goes and

hides.  After everyone finishes counting, they look for the ghost and if the ghost is spotted, the

person who finds them yells, “Ghosts in the graveyard!” and everyone must run to get back to

base before the ghost tags them.  If you are tagged, you become a ghost also and hide, too.  This

continues until there is one person looking for all the ghosts.  Round up a group of friends and

head to the center of campus at night to get everyone in on the Halloween fun!

2. Get Pinterest-y

Halloween is the perfect time to indulge that sweet tooth of yours.  Grab a few friends and agree

on something festive to try out together.  This is something low-key that everyone can enjoy, and

gives you time to catch up with your friends while participating in the fun of Halloween.  Here

are a few ideas you might want to try out:

3. Trunk-or-Treat!

Missing seeing all the kids come to your door for candy?  You can still take part in their trick-or-

treating by doing a trunk-or-treat!  Decorate your trunk and drive down into town to pass out

candy to them.  Be creative and use your trunk to your advantage.  There are plenty of fun ideas

to give the kids a good laugh.

Even though you might not have a lot of time to plan out an extravagant party for Halloween,

you can still get into the holiday through some of these low-key activities.  Whether you’re

gathering a few friends for a game, baking up some yummy treats, or spreading the Halloween

fun to the neighborhood kids, you’re sure to have lots of fun!
