It’s official – I have jumped on the Stranger Things bandwagon, and there is no going back now. Instead of catching up on homework like I said I would this Thanksgiving break, I watched all two seasons of Stranger Things.
And I have to say, after I finished, I immediately Googled “Stranger Things Season 3.” I absolutely loved the show and cannot stop raving about it to anyone I talk to, and I never fail to follow up hearing a creepy sound at night by muttering “Demogorgon.”
That being said, here are 10 reasons why you should be watching Stranger Things if you aren’t already.
1. Eleven.
She is one hard-core, Eggo-loving, determined girl who would do anything for her friends.
2. Inspired by a true story.
Originally titled “Montauk,” Stranger Things is inspired by the Montauk Project, which is a conspiracy theory about a Long Island military base. (Read more about it here!)
3. Friendship.
There’s no denying that this show thrives off of the importance of friendship. Without it, there’d essentially be no story.
4. The 80s.
Who doesn’t love the 80s??
5. The sci-fi.
This one might seem like a no-brainer, but this point is specifically for those that don’t really like sci-fi (like me). This was the main reason I didn’t have much interest in the show, but after you watch a few episodes, you really get into it.
6. The creativity.
Having the show take place before the world was dominated by technology means that the characters really need to get creative when doing anything on the show.
7. The comedy.
Even though it is a drama, this show still knows how to keep it lighthearted.
8. The suspense.
This show really knows how to keep you on your toes.
9. Steve Harrington.
No explanation needed.
10. So you can finally get all the references!
Enjoy!
