Books To Add In Your TBR List This October

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Delhi North chapter.

Reading is dreaming with open eyes. Every time I read books, I feel I am living every character’s life alongside them. Sometimes, I am a trained assassin or somebody who has magical powers to soothe tremors. Other times, I become someone who can control minds without even lifting fingers and so much more. Reading indeed offers an escape from the monotonous cycle of life. During the pandemic, I was able to read more novels without worrying about my work or studies. This year I picked various habits and reading books has become one of my favourites. So, here are my to-be-read books that you too can give a try this fall!

  • City of Glass by Cassandra Clare: This is the third book in the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. It has been in my TBR list for a very long time and I have finally decided to read it. The first and second books are very interesting to read as well!
  • We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal: I have read so much about this book and every review makes me want to read it RIGHT NOW. I’m kind of like a simp for knife-to-the-throat trope ( which generally includes the female lead being skilled with knives and swords and the male lead being attracted to her warrior profile) and this is the best book recommended under that category! I really can’t wait to see how this story unfolds.
  • One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston: Without a doubt, Casey McQuiston is one of my favourite writers out there. Just last week, I was a sobbing mess after I finished reading Red, White and Royal Blue because OH MY GOD, it is so good! I can’t begin to tell you how much I love reading her books and her writing style. I have also read many great reviews about this book and have an intuition that it will end up becoming my favourite romance book.
  • A Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir: If a strong female character who’s willing to change the world is your favourite trope then ‘An Ember in the Ashes’ series is the best choice for you. ‘A Reaper at the Gates’ is the third book in the series. The first two books are just awesome. I seriously don’t know if I’m love with Elias, Laia or Helene ( the three of the main characters in the book)! I absolutely love the plot where the female protagonist is equally skilled and powerful as her male counterpart. So if that is your jam, you may love this book.
  • Well Met by Jen DeLuca: Enemies-to-lover is one of my most cherished genres and this book falls right into this category. What do you think about this genre? Are you as excited to go though this novel as me?!

So here was the ultimate October book list for you! I hope you find these books as delightful as I will. Happy reading! (^-^)

Just another person who wants to leave this ordinary, boring world and live within some fantasy written by an author, personally, I would choose the Grishaverse.
